KOMETAK: Call for applications now open for exchange residency programme in plastic and visual arts

2025/11/07

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

KOMETAK is dedicated to strengthening cross-border ties and fostering collaboration between artists and cultural operators in the Basque Country and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Organised by the Etxepare Basque Institute, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Huarte, and the Bordeaux-based association Zébra3, its purpose is to carry out a cross-disciplinary research residency targeted at visual and plastic artists in the region.

To support artist residencies, the KOMETAK project team has launched a call for applications in the fields of visual and plastic arts. An artist residing in Nouvelle-Aquitaine will undertake a research-based artistic residency at the Huarte Contemporary Art Centre, and an artist residing in the Basque Country or Navarra will do the same at Zébra3 in Bordeaux. These residencies will last six weeks and are scheduled to take place between March and May 2026.

The deadline to apply for this exchange residency programme in plastic and visual arts is midnight on December 5, 2025.

The KOMETAK project is part of the Etxepare Basque Institute’s ‘Ça colle au basque’ initiative, which aims to promote the Basque language and culture in the French-speaking world. KOMETAK is co-funded by the EGTC Nouvelle-Aquitaine Euskadi Navarre Euroregion.
