Miriam Luki will be the Basque writer taking part this year in a one-month literary residency at Residencia Literaria 1863 in A Coruña. As part of the programme jointly promoted by Etxepare Basque Institute and Residencia Literaria 1863, she will develop her new literary project. The residency will take place in November 2026 and is part of the programme aimed at authors writing in Basque.

Miriam Luki

Miriam Luki (Urretxu, 1973) is a journalist and writer. She currently works at Galtzagorri, the Basque-language children’s and young adult literature association, where she develops and coordinates projects for reading mediators. Her published works include Argialdiak (Susa, 2023), Erreka (Bermingham, 2018) and Euslandia, unibertso txiki baterako galderak (Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Lanku, 2010).

Argialdiak, her first collection of short stories, was published by Susa in 2023, with a second edition released that same year. She currently combines literary creation with reading mediation, both in children’s and young adult literature and in adult reading groups.

Etxepare Basque Institute and Residencia Literaria 1863

The residency, organised jointly by Etxepare Basque Institute and Residencia Literaria 1863, aims to support literary creation in Basque by providing writers with the space, time and culturally dynamic environment needed to focus fully on their projects.

In the previous edition, Nerea Ibarzabal Salegi was the Basque writer selected to take part in the programme. In November 2025, she completed a one-month residency in A Coruña to develop her literary project.
